Child Witness Program
Safe and supportive counselling for children
Supportive counselling for children and youth plays a vital role in the prevention of repeating the cycle of abuse. We offer counselling to children 4-16 who have witnessed woman abuse. Individual and group programs offer a safe and supportive environment to process the violence and the abuse of power and control they have witnessed. Group programs focus on domestic violence exposure, safety planning, feelings around separation/divorce, family, and self-esteem.
A group for the children’s mothers is offered concurrently in order to assist moms with issues around their children’s healing process.
The group runs for eight to ten weeks, and transportation is available if necessary.
All our services are free and confidential. For further information, please contact us.
Tailored programs and services would not be possible without the continues support received from donors in our community.
